She’s angry that I left. I’m angry that I died.
It’s the trouble with our two lives: we don’t only have one past to work through, but two. Double the pain, twice the betrayal.
A million times the tragedy.
***The Moon is the story of Merlin and Nimue from the New Camelot trilogy. It’s recommended that you read the trilogy first, as there are American King spoilers in The Moon.***
(Cards of Love is a massive multi-author project, a series of love letters to the mysterious and inspirational world of tarot cards. These can be read in any order, as the only thing the Cards of Love books share is their common inspiration from the world of tarot.)

A hiss in the darkness, then a flame, bright and dancing and unwelcome.
A match, I think, and then I think, why?
And then: where am I?
“You’re awake,” says a voice like water. A voice I love. It still doesn’t help me figure out where I am.
“Am I?” I ask. “Awake?”
Like I said earlier, I don’t dream as such, but when I close my eyes, the memories and visions are there, dogging my sleep. And I think maybe—yes, there is also a memory like this. A memory of a dark-haired girl and a cave sparkling with light, the night air heavy with the ecstatic cries we fed it.
“You are awake, Merlin.” The flame moves, calves another flame, and then is blown out. A candle now glows softly against the face of a woman standing at the end of the bed I’m on.
Dark brows arch high over clear blue eyes and a long nose curves gracefully down the woman’s oval face, framed by a high forehead and cheekbones, and a beautiful, if narrow, jaw. Her lips are on the thin side, but perfectly sculpted, giving her an expressive, fascinating mouth. Coffee-dark hair hangs in glossy sheets around her face and down her back.
She’s haunting. Haunting even as a girl, but now even more so as a woman.
“Nimue,” I say, and for the first time I notice how thirsty I am. I make to sit up—and realize my hands are tied to the bed.
Nimue sets the candle down on an end table, and it illuminates the space enough to show me that
I’m indeed in a room and not in the damp mouth of a cave.It means it’s now and not then, which I suppose I should be grateful for.
After all, I died then.
A silver key glints from just below the smile of her clavicle, the bottom tip of it pointing to the sweet valley between her breasts I used to know so well. They are small and pert—her body still the lithe dancer’s body she had as a girl—and my flesh responds to the sight of those little handfuls, the memory of them. The fantasy of her dusky nipples dragging along the underside of my aching cock is enough to have my body warming, and that’s when I really become aware that I’m not only tied to the bed, but I’m also dressed in a pair of black boxer briefs and nothing else.
Well, nothing else except for the padded cuff around my ankle.
Nimue leans forward to untie my wrist, which leaves the front of her swishy dress gaping forward enough that I can see those nipples now, dark rose and erect.
I’d tasted them frequently once upon a time.
Once upon a time, twice.
In another life, I’d known the feel of her breasts against my lips and tongue better than I’d known almost anything else.
With one of my wrists freed, Nimue straightens and nods at the other. “You can untie yourself. You’ll find that the chain allows you more than enough length to do everything you need. I’m obviously trusting you not to do anything self-destructive, but should the need arise, I can take away this particular freedom.” She says it cheerfully, almost as if the idea of taking away my freedom delights her.
The key on her chest glints as she steps back, and I understand that it’s the key that unlocks my cuff—the same cuff that is connected to a ring in the floor by a length of slender chain.
Anger comes.
And with it shame.
And with that, fear.
I died once this way, and I’d rather not do it again.
I lunge for my other wrist to untie it, needing to be free, needing to reach for Nimue to kiss her or kill her—but by the time I untie myself, she’s out the door with it shut and locked behind her.

 5 Sexy Heels

Ever since I finished American King and we learned so much more about Merlin and his role in Ash's life and the history of Arthur that Sierra brought into The New Camelot series, I wanted him to have his own story. Because he was the keeper of the secrets, the seer of the future, the one who held the past, I'd always expected Merlin to be cavalier about his sex life. Never did I expect the story that Sierra spun for us in this wonderful short story that brings us two favored characters and their pasts, their pain and their future! This world has become an amazing well of both entertainment (in Sierra's stories) but also a learning experience about the history of Camelot and the people who were talked about then

Review Blitz - GUILTY AS SIN by Meghan March

  Guilty until proven innocent.

That’s the way the world works, right?

I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.

The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.

If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances. A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends. Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes. I didn’t know or care what her name was. Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man. She hates me, and she should. I objected on her wedding day. Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger. They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable. I’ll never be done with her.

Whitney Gable is the kind of woman you fight to the death to protect.

To keep.

To cherish.

I’ve finally learned my lesson, and it’s time to prove I’m the man who’s worthy of her.

I don’t care what it takes, because failure is not an option.

No matter who or what stands in our way—this time, she’ll be mine forever

Another home run that will leave you breathlessly waiting for the next book. Lincoln seems to be making all the right moves but is Whitney buying what he is selling? There are so many secrets that you might think...I saw that coming...sure...but then there are others that have you scratching your head and say What the H E double hockey sticks? This family feud is something else but when all is said and done...can these two families call a truce? If this ending is anything to go by...not quite yet. There are some truly despicable, unlikable characters in this story and I don't think I have ever wished a character dead but oyyyy I want Karma gone. I'm hoping we find out more about why she is the way she is before I off her myself!

After the cliffhanger in the first book, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one. I’ve learned early on with Meghan’s books to always expect the unexpected twist. I love the way it goes from the pad to the future filling in blanks and weaving this amazing story. And just when I think I know how things are going to go with Whitney and Lincoln, Meghan throws in another twist. I was left with my jaw dropping at the cliffhanger in this book as well. I can’t wait for the next book to find out how everything unfolds.

The people we love are thieves. They steal our hearts. They steal our breath. They steal our sanity. And we let them. Over and over and over again.

They say you never forget your first time. Mine was with a homeless musician who effed my brains out under a bridge. He was my first love. And fourteen years later, I still can’t get him out of my head. He broke all my rules. He also broke my heart. I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar. But I was never a fan; just a girl in love. Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake. But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true. You can’t go back, but I want to. Back to the bridge. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart. I thought I knew everything about him. But I could not have been more wrong. He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting. And hoping. Again.

5 Sexy Heels

Holy, holy, holy cow. Carian Cole has written an absolutely gorgeous, beautiful, heartbreaking, seriously deep story of love, mental illness and the resilience of faith. As I was reading, I thought, I can almost see where this story will go and although it might have gotten there, Carian's words are EVERYTHING. She writes this story as though she is writing a poem where EVERY SINGLE WORD has meaning. The character development of not only Blue and Piper, but of all the people who crossed their paths was so amazingly deep, you felt like these are people you actually know...and in a way, you just might. Having had people in my life suffer from long time mental illnesses, I have been through that wringer more than once or twice before and Carian really brought all those feelings of pain, regret and fear to light...But the biggest thing this story brought to me was HOPE. No matter what was going on, Piper never lost hope no matter how many times she was broken, or how many years went by, or how many people told her to give it up. She stood strong and powered through with the faith that they would find their happy ending. "I love you like there is no tomorrow". These two loved like there was no tomorrow and only in reading about their journey will you know whether or not they got the ending they both so richly deserved! My heart is still beating a mile a minute even hours after reading this because it was so beautifully emotional.

This was my first Carian Cole book and it most definitely won't be my last. I loved the way she told this heartbreaking story that hits a little close to home for me. This book touches on a few tough topics that maybe triggers for some. So, please be sure to read the warning and proceed with caution. This book will take you on the journey of first love and heartache and forgiveness and healing.

Sometimes you can't help who you fall in love with and sometimes life gives us exactly what we need when we need it. Loving someone who is mentally ill is one of the hardest things to do. Balancing how much you love them and figuring out how to set boundaries to protect your own heart is difficult, but extremely necessary. Piper loves Blue to the depths of her soul and never gives up on Blue through it all. Even though she doesn’t understand what is happening with Blue, she sticks by him despite his self destructive behavior and what others in her life have to say about him. These two go through so much and to see how everything unfolds and how these two figure things out. With every heartbreaking moment I cried and as I continued reading I started to feel hope.

Don’t miss out on this heartbreakingly beautiful story.
