Welcome to the mysterious world of the rich and the damned in this gritty, modern day fairy tale. Two star-crossed lovers will either find their destiny or meet their fate in a world where demons come in the form of familiar faces and pawns aren’t just players, but deadly.

She was my destiny.

I was her downfall.

We were a match made in hell.

But when we were together, that hell was pure heaven.

The moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she would pay the price for my sins. I wasn’t much older than she was, but old enough to know better. Old enough to know she would be good for me and I was bad for her. But I pursued her anyway. Back then I had hope that maybe she could change my future.

Maybe together we could change our fate . . .

4 Sexy Heels

Savage by S.L. Scott was a lesson in patience. As I was reading, I wanted to hurt some of the main characters more than once. I wanted to slap them and tell them to snap out of it. Some moments they were strong, vibrant characters and others they were wishy-washy, weak people. About half way I was thinking, there had better be a great payoff because I wasn't connecting with Sara Jane or Alexander at all at this point. I liked them well enough but I wasn't seeing the connection early on. What drew Alexander to Sara Jane early on and why Sara Jane felt like she would do anything for Alexander wasn't necessarily clear right away. I guess that is how real relationships are sometimes. You have two people who should never work together but they do.

BUT, S.L. really redeemed herself in the second half of the book in my eyes. The more we delved into the past through Sara Jane's and Alexander's memories, the more we learned about what drew them together. We see some hideous, tragic memories and actions that although I still wanted to kill some characters, it was for a very different reason. I saw these two literally grow up in that span of time and had me flipping page after page hoping that what I thought might happen won't happen. I was on the edge of my seat during certain interactions between Sara Jane and Alex's dad and the build up to the end of the book was a true build up to the point that I may have thought about throwing my kindle out the window. And yes, be prepared for one heck of a cliffhanger...I will not lie...Bring on Savior because I NEED to know what happens next.
