RELEASE BLITZ/REVIEW - Something So Perfect by Natasha Madison

something so perfect release day.jpg

Drafted first round pick when I was seventeen, playing first line at eighteen, branded NHL's bad boy at nineteen. At twenty-three I was cut from the team and living back home with my parents. A knock on the door brought an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. All I had to do was prove I learned from my mistakes, so no way would I fall for a chick with a pouty mouth even if I wanted to spend all day devouring it.

When my father gave me a job, I had no idea it would be to babysit some washed up NHL player. He wanted me to be his chaperone, his overpaid babysitter. I thought it was a joke. Then I met him, Matthew Grant. I wasn’t prepared for this particular bad boy. He’s not only hot but he’s arrogant and kinda sweet in a 'you make me crazy' kind of way.
Basically now that he’s finished screwing up his life, he’s decided to turn mine upside down.

She’s the first thing I’ve ever wanted more than hockey.

He’s the guy I know I should stay away from.

But what if this thing that started out so wrong turns into something so perfect?

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...

Something So Perfect by Natasha Madison is the 2nd book in the Something So series. It is my first read from this Author and I will continue to read her books in the future. Natasha has a definite way of making you feel like you are the character.

Karrie's father, Doug (who I really liked, for the record) gives her a job with his organization, and she is NOT happy about it. She has a Master's degree for heaven's sake and the last thing she wants to do is babysit a washed up NHL player...and a super cocky one at that, no matter how handsome he is.

Matthew Grant is one heck of a hockey player, but...he has done some really stupid things in his life and career. He gets one final chance to redeem himself but there are strings attached. He must live and be closely watched by Karrie Cooney, the owner's daughter. Matthew is cocky and really does think that the world revolves around him. The two get off on the absolutely wrong foot but things quickly get super steamy, much to Karrie's surprise.

I spent most of the book feeling like I was Karrie (without all the feel good stuff lol) and wanting to wring Matthew's controlling, almost misogynistic neck. I loved how Karrie talked to herself and give it back to him time and time again. Although Matthew comes across as a man who wants everything his way, you soon find out that it is more likely his way of coping and protecting those he loves.

I absolulely adored Cooper and Parker and holy heck did I love Vivienne!! I want more of her!! Something So Perfect made me laugh out loud and sometimes cringe at the caveman act but all in all it was a great book!

4 Sexy Heels

I have been waiting patiently for this book and when I found out that it was Matthew's book, I was very excited. He has had small cameos in some of Natasha's other books and that has just managed to get me more excited for this book. As for being a standalone, it is in the sense that you can read this series out of order, but if you are one of those people that doesn't want details about the first book, then you might want to read Something so Right first, but definitely not necessary.

Matthew is getting a second chance after royally screwing up his NHL career by partying too hard. Now with this chance comes a "babysitter" to help keep him on track. When he shows up for initial meeting he is shocked to see that the women he saw in the hotel gym and finds out that she will be his "babysitter." I knew this was going to be fun...and I found myself shaking my head at so many things Matthew says and does to Karrie. He can definitely come off very arrogate and domineering, yet there are still times where he shows his softer side. Karrie is sassy and doesn't take any of his crap. So, when things happen and he bulldozes his way into her bed and heart, you can't help of want them to be together.

Don't miss out on this book or series, you will not be disappointed.

Cover Reveal - The Wild by K. Webster

The Wild

by K. Webster
Publication Date: August 7, 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance, Taboo

I brought them to the wilderness because we couldn’t cope with our reality. The plan was to make a new life that didn’t include heartache. No people. No technology. No interference. Just us. A chance to piece together what was broken. But the wilderness is untamed and harsh. Brutal and unforgiving. It doesn’t give a damn about your feelings. Tragedy lives there too. No escaping the truths that won’t let you go. All you can do is survive where love, no matter how beastly, is the only thing you can truly count on. Confusing. Wrong. Twisted. Beautiful. Sick. Love is wild. And we’re going to set it free. Warning: The Wild is an extremely taboo story. Most will find that the themes in this book will make you incredibly uncomfortable. This book is only for the brave, the open-minded, and the ones who crave love in even the most dismal of situations. Extreme sexual themes and violence in certain scenes, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to heavy taboo themes, then this story is not for you.

USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. 5 Sexy Heels

Several weeks ago, I was scrolling through my books to try and find a book that I'd read a long time ago so I could do a re-read of it. Something about the storyline had me wanting to revisit this particular book. Imagine my surprise to find it out was waiting in a queue for me to review. It has been re-edited and I will say for the record, I loved it more the second time around (kind of like second chance love stories lol). In any case. Heather and Seth's story stuck with me even though for the life of me I couldn't remember their names.

Heather is an A List Hollywood actress with a troubled past--one she wants to leave right there -- in the past. She would rather not ever have to acknowledge it. However, her past makes her a different person in the now in some ways. She DOES try to help those who may have been in her shoes, but she also is looking for a future with someone who will never, ever remind her of her past, thus making her a snob to some degree.

Seth is also successful in his own right. He has worked hard to become who he is but conversely, doesn't deny his past because that makes him who he is and also because, he is proud of what he has become. Heather, however, makes an assumption upon meeting Seth that causes Seth to try to teach her a lesson.

There are many lessons taught and learned in this book and top of the list is to never, ever judge a book by it's cover. The beauty of this story is how each of them learn to let others in, how to deal with their demons, and how to move forward despite difficult beginnings. Plenty of steam, love and quirky fun moments to be had.

 5 Sexy Heels

This was my first Jennifer Probst book and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I am always skeptical when I read a book that is part of a standalone series, but this series definitely can be read out of order. I will most definitely be adding the first two books to my TBR list.

First, let me start off by telling you that the author flawlessly created the perfect alpha male. Tristan comes across laid back, but he just eludes power in every way. Except he has a small flaw that makes you fall completely head over heels for him. Sydney has loved him since she was 8 years old and she has gone from needy girl to confident and sassy women. These two have history and things start to change between them when Sydney presents this huge business proposal and requests to be made CFO. This forces Tristan to see Sydney in a different light and work side by side with her on this project. He decides that he wants a second chance and he won't take "no" for an answer. These two have off the charts chemistry and this constant power struggle going on through this entire book. Sydney has a secret that could tear them apart and you will find out if the past is just too much to overcome the present. I loved how the author uses flashbacks to spin the story and give it depth. This book is very well written and I highly recommend checking out this book.
