RELEASE BLITZ/REVIEW - Mercy by Debra Anastasia

Title: Mercy
Author: Debra Anastasia
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: August 21, 2017

He taught me to kill. Murder is in my blood now. It runs through my veins and though I hide the monster I see in the mirror with ink, it doesn’t keep him from coming out.

My street name is Mercy, but I never show any. Except for her. I watch Becca, though she doesn’t know. She saved me a long time ago; the day my father killed my mother. Her bravery turned her into a target.

My father holds a grudge and knife with the same proficiency, and Becca is the focus of his hatred. And I’m the only monster who can save her.

Author Bio

Debra Anastasia likes to write from her heart, her soul or her butt. The genres she dabbles in are examples of that. There are two paranormal romances in the Seraphim Series and now four contemporary romances in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series and a stand alone in the same genre, Mercy. Fire Down Below and Fire in the Hole, Booty Camp Dating Service and Beast complete her comedy repertoire. The Revenger, a dark paranormal romance, is finally in the light, and the last, a novella called Late Night with Andres, is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research.

Debra lives in Maryland with her two kids, husband of twenty years and two dogs. The king of the house is clearly the tuxedo cat that is the size of a small donkey. Find about her latest adventures on

4 Sexy Heels

This is my first Debra Anastasia book. This book, despite the darker subject matter, was strangely beautiful and a different kind of romance.

The main characters (but also some side characters) are deeply flawed, broken or maybe even lost. Becca wants to have it all together...she wants to do it for her mother. Her relationships are few but those she does have are strong. Reading the interaction between Becca and Henry made me smile and hope that my friendships can remain so strong. Becca is strong-willed, at least in most parts of her life. Only her mother seems to be the one she can't say no to...for any reason. Becca has NO idea the impact she has made on one little boy so many years ago. She was strong-willed even then, as a little girl...and that little boy has never forgotten it.

Nix is so flawed and so beautiful, even in his attempt to hide or erase who he is. He will forever protect the one person who stood up for him but will it come at a price? He is known for showing NO MERCY to those who cross him. Can he stay away from Becca for her own good? Or will he take a chance to find that love, that beauty that he deserves even as he doesn't believe he does?

Debra has a way of writing a story that despite the darkness, throws you in a world that it infinitely more beautiful than you would expect...for example, the dandelions. I look forward to reading Animal's story.

4 Sexy Heels

This was my first Debra Anastasia book. And like always I went into this book completely blind. It definitely makes reading exciting and often interesting that way. I couldn't shake the feeling that this was on the first book in the series, but I would still consider it a standalone. And I will absolutely be checking out the first book ~Beast...which is about Becca's best friend Henry.

I am not going to lie, there is a lot of weird stuff in it starting with a guy with a full body skeleton tattoo. I am not exactly sure how Debra does it, but she made me fall in love with Nix despite his weird tattoo and his chosen profession. There is just something about a  damaged guy who is head over heels in love with a girl. From the moment Nix meets Becca when they are kids to when what can only be described as fate brings them together as adults these two clearly were meant to be together. Becca is a beautiful girl with a unique soul. She sees the world differently then most of society and that makes this story so beautiful. You will just have to check out this book to find out all the details about how they meet, what brings them back together and what threatens to tear them apart. This book is full of angst, suspense and twists that made reading this book so worth it.

I am looking forward to reading the next book, Animal...who is Nix's best friend.
